Nuts and Bolts

The 2025 CSA Box Program is currently full. Additional spots may come available as the season progresses so if you’re interested, please join the waitlist and I’ll be in touch as soon as a spot is available for you.

Pick-up days and times:

You can pick up from Fernwood (lək̓ʷəŋən territory) or from the farm (lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territories)

Pick-up from the farm (4600 Cordova Bay Rd) or the Fernwood Hub (near Vic High) is available on Thursdays, between 5pm and 9pm.

The first pick-up date will be early June and boxes will continue through October.

Boxes run for 20 weeks, with a one week break in the middle of August.

If you move during the summer and want to change your pick-up location, just let me know and we can swap you over!

Hub pick-up:

Your veggie box will be ready to grab from your chosen pick-up location every week. It’s a contactless pick-up system and you can come whenever you please during the pick-up hours.

I send out reminder emails every week but it is the box member’s responsibility to pick up each week or make alternate arrangements.

If you’re picking up from Fernwood, please choose a sliding scale delivery fee when you order. This helps cover the cost of gas and pay our wonderful driver.

Check out the FAQ page to learn more about sliding scale pricing.

Pricing:

I offer two different sizes of boxes to best meet your needs. Check out the FAQ to learn more about which box is right for you.

The small box is $350 for the season (an average of $17.50/week). The large box is $700 for the season (an average of $35/week).

While I greatly appreciate if you’re able to pay upfront, I also get that that’s not possible for lots of folks in our community and I’m happy to accept payment by instalments.

Please indicate in the sign up form if you want to pay in instalments. I’ll be in touch to confirm payment details.

Commitment:

Joining a CSA is a full season commitment and I need to know that everyone who joins will stay on board for the full 20-week season.

This allows me to know I have a continuous customer base when I start planting in March and lets you enjoy all the different vegetables I grow throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Add-ons:

You can add on flowers to your weekly CSA box!

  • Flower bunches ($120 plus tax)
    • Fresh blooms for 11 weeks
    • An assortment of cut flowers grown on site, including dahlias, snapdragons, sunflowers and zinnias.

Community Sponsored CSA:

Making fresh, delicious veggies available to everyone is a big priority for Rake and Radish Farm.

While I’d love to be able to feed everyone who can’t afford to sign up for a veggie box, it just isn’t feasible with the narrow margins and financial reality of farming. Let’s just say nobody has ever gotten into sustainable farming for the money...

With that in mind, I’m putting it out to our CSA box members and wider community. If you’re in a position to and would like to chip in to help provide free veggie boxes to folks in our community that couldn’t otherwise afford one, I’d be very grateful.

You can sign up to help subsidize a box on the CSA sign up page or get in touch through the Contact page.

If you’re a 2SLQBTQIA+, BIPOC, and/or disabled person who couldn’t otherwise afford fresh, local veggies and you’re looking for a free weekly CSA share, please get in touch through the Contact page.
